Hello grade one families!

WOW- we cannot believe that this is our last full week in grade one! 😭

We are so excited to finish off our year with tonnes of fun and learning.

We were blown away by the grade one summer tree art inspired by Canadian artist and illustrator Barbara Reid.

Today we worked on words that end in -ed. Some words that end in -ed have a "d" sound at the end and some words have a "t" sound. For example, loved (d) and splashed (t)! We did such a great job reading several words and identifying the ending sound.

In math, we have been measuring the distance between 2 different objects using string! So much fun.

Today we did the big bad wolf blow test on our houses... ask me what we used to test them! Our houses were SO STURDY that none of them blew down! We added roofs and other details to our houses and created 3 little pigs and a wolf with plasticine. They were amazing.

Have a wonderful night!

Love the grade one team 💚
