Good afternoon grade one families!

We had a busy fun-filled day!

We are working on our doubles, friendly numbers that add up to 10, as well as fact families. Ask me to show you an example of a fact families.

7+3=10

3+7=10

10-7=3

10-3=7

We are learning about words that end with "le" as well as reviewing the sounds "sh", "th" & "wh".

In science, we are learning all about our 5 senses! We started our centres which have been so much fun and include mystery bags with certain smells, mystery bags with different sounds, a taste bud centre, a braille centre where we are learning to write our names using braille, an adapting centre where we try to do up buttons without oven mitts and with oven mitts, a sight centre where we try to figure out extremely zoomed in photos of objects, a centre in which we describe how different materials feel and many more! We are loving it. Ask me for some examples of how our 5 senses help to keep us safe.

👀👂👃👅✋

This afternoon we went on a lovely nature walk with our grade 5 buddies and tallied how many birds we saw flying, sitting, swimming and walking. There were SO many beautiful birds doing all of those things plus one adorable muskrat swimming in the pond!

Have a wonderful night!

Love the grade one team
